History

The Grand Lake Area Safety Council (GLASC) was started after much discussion among industry leaders in both Auglaize and Mercer Counties. It was the general consensus that there is often a need for an information/assistance coordination among the industries regarding environmental, health, and safety issues.

All the industries represented expressed difficulty often knowing what they are and how they must comply. The group believes that the cost and complexities of this information and training often cause hardships to most area industries. Many of the smaller industries cannot afford an employee that specifically deals with those issues or singly afford training and educational opportunities. Thus, the Grand Lake Area Safety Council was put together to better utilize the wealth of resources that already exist in the area.

The Grand Lake Area Safety Council (GLASC) is co-sponsored by the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene. We appreciate their support.
